Designed as a legacy home for our client, the house will be a place to gather, reconnect, and be passed down through generations. The brief called for a flexible design that accommodates both multi-generational living and more intimate escapes. Whether hosting extended family or offering a quiet refuge, the house is crafted to adapt seamlessly to different needs.
Envisioned as a sanctuary from modern life, the Archipelago House is designed for slow living; a place to embrace simple pleasures and meaningful connections. Whether cooking and sharing meals around a generous dining table, gathering by the fire for long conversations, or unwinding in the sauna before a swim in the sea, the house encourages a rhythm of life that is deeply connected to nature and togetherness.
With planning secured, we are now advancing through tender and construction documentation, working closely with our Finnish collaborators. Our role includes full construction documentation, supported by a local architect for permissions, alongside structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, and a Finnish project manager. Construction is set to begin in May.
This project is an exciting opportunity to draw on our Scandinavian heritage, embracing the relationship between architecture and nature - an approach that resonates strongly with our practice.
